Recognized Fellows

In 2017, AAMSE began to annually identify and recognize a select number of members who have demonstrated a commitment to professional medical society management and are active participants in AAMSE activities. In 2019, with a gift from the Texas Medical Association Special Funds Trust, the AAMSE Board of Directors endowed the program as the Louis J. Goodman, PhD, Recognized Fellows of AAMSE

Recognized Fellows of AAMSE is an outstanding group of individuals who are dedicated to their own continuing professional development and have distinguished themselves among their colleagues, communities as well as in AAMSE, through exceptional leadership and service. Their dedication and longstanding commitment to our profession is recognized by this mark of distinction.

Acknowledgment/Recognition
Recognized Fellows of AAMSE will receive the following acknowledgements:

  • Ability to identify themselves as a “recognized fellow of AAMSE” or include the designation, “FAAMSE”
  • A personalized, congratulatory letter from the AAMSE President
  • A certificate and pin presented at the Annual Meeting at the AAMSE Annual Conference
  • Recognition on the AAMSE web site and press release
  • Additional unique engagement opportunities in the future

Additional Information

  • Recognized Fellows of AAMSE is not a certification program nor is it affiliated with any other medical, health or association certification or certificate program
  • Recognized Fellows of AAMSE must maintain annual membership in AAMSE in order to maintain their status
  • No special discounts or waivers will be provided for Recognized Fellow of AAMSE related to conferences, courses or programs and products
  • No additional fees are assessed for Recognized Fellow of AAMSE status beyond the initial, one-time application fee
  • No additional maintenance, renewal or reporting documents are required for Recognized Fellows of AAMSE
  • Questions regarding Recognized Fellows of AAMSE status or related application materials can be directed to Darrin Hubbard at darrinh@aamse.org.

Applications and recommendations for the 2020 Louis J. Goodman, PhD, Recognized Fellows of AAMSE must be received on or before February 28.

Here’s how to apply.

Step 1: Review Qualifications

Interested members should review the table below that details the categories, criteria and point allocations for each section. Applicants must earn a minimum of 70 points to be considered for fellowship.

Step 2: Secure Recommendations
All applicants need to secure recommendations from two individuals attesting to the individual’s competencies and professional contributions to medical societies. All recommendations must be completed using the official one form.

LOUIS J. GOODMAN, PHD, RECOGNIZED FELLOW OF AAMSE – REQUEST FOR RECOMMENDATION FORM

Your application must include a recommendation form completed by one person from each of the following categories:

  • Professional medical society supervisors, volunteer leaders or colleagues (past or present).
  • Other AAMSE members or associates

Step 3: Complete an Application
Complete the Louis J. Goodman, PhD, Recognized Fellows of AAMSE Application Form, found at the bottom of this page. A one-time, non-refundable $50 application processing fee is required.

Step 4: Review/Notification
Once all materials are submitted, each application will be scored using the rubric and assigned points noted in the application form. In addition, open-ended questions will be reviewed and scored by members of an appointed committee. Please note:

  • Applicants must accrue a minimum of 70 points to be recognized as a Fellow of AAMSE
  • Responses to each question on the application will be calculated and added up to determine a total score
  • Applicants are not required to answer all questions
  • Each activity will be counted only once and should be listed separately
  • All applicants will be notified by April 1, 2019 regarding the outcome of the review process

Step 5: Acknowledgment/Recognition
The inaugural class of Recognized Fellows of AAMSE will receive the following:

  • Ability to identify themselves as a “recognized fellow of AAMSE” or include the designation, “FAAMSE”
  • A personalized, congratulatory letter from the AAMSE President
  • A certificate and pin presented at the Annual Meeting during the AAMSE Annual Conference
  • Recognition on the AAMSE web site and press release
  • Additional unique engagement opportunities in the future
