AAMSE History
Formed in 1946 as the Medical Society Executive Conference with 69 members, today AAMSE transforms knowledge into useful skills, tools and applications that position medical society executives and the organizations and physicians they serve, as leaders, change agents and innovators who set the standard for professionalism and quality.

First Annual Conference Reception, 1947
Although the first non-MD executive was employed by the Ohio State Medical Association in 1913, it was not until 1946 that, as founding member Mac F. Cahal, American College of Radiology, stated, "...the day has passed when executive employees of county, state and national medical societies must mince around as imposters or interlopers. We have a job to do. I think we can do it better if we have an opportunity to meet together and discuss the many questions that are common to all of us."
For the past 60 years, AAMSE has forged a path for its members, the profession and the medical community. AAMSE's members have been taking an active role in addressing and solving the problems facing the medical community for over a half century. Come take a look at what has been accomplished.
