quality of patient care movement for physicians, medical societies and medical society executives. From this summit it became apparent that the healthcare industry was changing rapidly.
Since that time, AAMSE has committed time and resources to address quality of patient care issues so that this movement does not happen to the medical community, but rather with the medical community. With the generous support of the Physicians' Foundation for Health Systems Excellence and the American Medical Association, AAMSE conducted its second and third Expert Summits on Quality of Patient Care in October 2006 and October 2007.
With the conclusion of the third summit, AAMSE is in the process of preparing a comprehensive summary of presentations from all three. Watch this site for publication of the document in July 2008.
Since the first summit in 2004, awareness of the quality movement has grown; but so has the gap between medical society executives who are becoming active leaders in the quality movement and those who are seeking a basic understanding. Through the resources on this website, we hope to close that gap while providing the most current information on the quality movement.
