About the Program

Why should you attend the New Medical Executives Institute?

The New Medical Executives Institute is geared toward medical society executives that have three years or less experience in the medical society world. The goal of the institute is to help prepare you for the unique aspects of medical society management and continue building a network of colleagues which will serve you throughout your medical society management career. The Institute will also provide you with an opportunity to develop the knowledge and tools you need, not only for the advancement for your organization, but also for the advancement of your career.

Topics to be covered include an overview of the current health care system, top issues facing physicians and medical societies, how to manage when you aren’t in charge, communication strategies and social media, the growing importance of non-dues revenue, and the politics of health care, along with a visit to the AMA.

Why should you send your staff to the New Medical Executives Institute?

As experienced medical society executives consider the benefits of sending your staff to an Institute where they will learn how to build a strong peer network, how the healthcare system works, the challenges of working with physician leaders and finance tools, and take a trip to the AMA. The knowledge they will gain from their experiences at the New Medical Executives Institute and the materials they bring back to the office will be critical not only to their position, but also to the advancement of your organization.

The New Medical Executives Institute is training specific to medical society management, and geared toward your staff members who have three years or less experience in medical society management.

Can a participant earn CAE credit by attending the New Medical Executives Institute?

All AAMSE sessions on association/society management are eligible for CAE credit. You may earn one credit hour towards CAE certification or recertification, for each full clock hour, up to a maximum of 6 hours for each full-day program. Please note, however, that sessions specific to AAMSE procedures and/or medical topics would not earn credit, and all credits are subject to the determination of the CAE program. For more information on the CAE, visit www.whatiscae.com.
