As part of your AAMSE Leadership Academy experience, you will be provided with a 360 degree feedback report in the form of the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI). Receiving a report such as this is an opportunity to examine your leadership, validate the things you are doing well and identify ways to be a more effective leader.
A “360 Degree Feedback” refers to a well-rounded feedback experience (hence the 360 term). It is a common practice in many leadership programs to receive a report like this in order to examine one’s leadership practices. In this report you will receive feedback (if completed correctly) from:
- Your self ratings
- Your manager
- Your peers
- Your direct reports (if you supervise others)
- Other important perspectives
The variety of views captured in the 360 report give you an opportunity to examine your leadership practices from a number of different perspectives.
At the AAMSE Leadership Academy, you will have an opportunity to review your feedback, understand how to interpret your feedback report, see how your ratings compare to others and discuss the implications with others if you choose. Below, we have listed some Frequently Asked Questions to answer any initial questions you may have:
- Will anyone else have a copy of my feedback report?
- How will I know how to interpret the report? What assistance is provided to me?
- How will I know what my strengths and development needs are?
- Will I have to share the details of my feedback report with anyone?
- What is the expectation after the program in using or sharing the feedback from the report?
Will anyone else have a copy of my feedback report?
