AAMSE Listservs

AAMSE currently supports 3 Listservs:

All listservs are limited only to CEOs of the specific type of organization. Only registered members will be able to send and receive emails addressed to these listservs.

Requesting Access

To request access, simply email your request to aamse@aamse.org, with the following information:

  • Name
  • Organization
  • Listserv you are requesting access to (County or State)
  • The email address you would like the listserv messages to be sent to

Once your request has been processed you will receive an email from the listserv administrator confirming your membership to the listserv.

If you did not receive your confirmation email, it may be getting caught in your spam filter.  If you have checked your spam settings and junk folder, and you are still not receiving any messages from the listserv, please contact us at aamse@aamse.org.

Posting Messages

Posting messages to the listserv is as simple as sending an email. Simply open up your email program (such as Outlook or Yahoo Mail), type your message and address it to the respective listserv email address.

*Please note: You may only post messages using the email address that you requested subscribed to the listserv.

Replying to Messages

If you would like to reply to a message that was sent over the listserv simply hit reply.

PLEASE NOTE: Any message you reply to will be sent to the entire group, even if you only use "reply" and not "reply to all". Your message will not be sent only to the person who composed the original message.

Attachments

Attachments can be sent through the listserv, but the preferred method is to simply upload you document to the AAMSE Management Library.  Once your document has been approved you will be sent a link that you can insert into your message.

This method ensures that email boxes do not get clogged with multiple copies of the same document and also makes it easier for your colleagues to reference it in the future.

Updating your Information

To change your email address or subscription type for either listserv please send an email to aamse@aamse.org outlining the changes you wish to make.

Requesting Removal

To request your removal from either listserv, please email aamse@aamse.org and provide the email address you want removed.

Listserv Terms of Service

The American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE) maintains Listservs for the benefit of its members. AAMSE reserves the right to remove any user for any reason. It is expected that “use common sense” should be sufficient guidance for the vast majority of possible questions and situations. For those exceptions, the following guidelines apply.

Please note that the AAMSE Listservs have no moderator. Listserv members are responsible for “enforcing” violations of the guidelines. Simple, tactful, one-to-one messages to the “violators” are encouraged.

All users of the e-mail Listservs voluntarily submit themselves to the following guidelines and etiquette:

Postings of a personal nature or forwarding of nonprofessional materials are not appropriate on the AAMSE Listservs. Please use personal emails for this type of communication.

Stay On Topic: All posts should be relevant to the scope of the Listserv. When posting a message to the Listserv, pick subject line text that concisely describes the topic of your message. You should also begin a new topic if a discussion thread will be changing significantly.

Respect Other Subscribers: The discussions put forward in the Listservs are meant to stimulate conversation and to allow association professionals to share experience and advice. They are not intended to create a contentious environment. Let others have their say, just as you may. No personal attacks, or “flames,” are allowed. All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not say anything in a Listserv message that you would not want the world to see and would not want to know came from you.

No Advertisements: Subscribers may not post commercial messages, advertisements, or solicitations of any kind on the Listservs. Feel free to discuss products and vendors with the understanding that the Listserv is a public domain, and your comments are subject to libel and slander laws.

Copyright: Gain permission to reprint copyrighted materials before posting it to the Listserv. If you send information that is not your original work or idea, please specify the original source of your information. Do not post anything that is not original unless it meets the “fair use” guidelines of copyright law. When posting materials, you voluntarily present yourself as the copyright owner or as someone who has received permission to reprint copyrighted materials.

Requests for Legal Advice: The Listservs are not intended to provide legal advice. If you are seeking legal advice, consult an attorney in a formal capacity.

“Spam” and Use of E-Mail Addresses: No one is allowed to collect or use the addresses of Listserv subscribers for the purposes of unsolicited e-mail marketing, or “spam.” If you have received spam and you believe your e-mail address was gathered from an AAMSE e-mail Listserv, please contact aamse@aamse.org. Use discretion before forwarding someone's e-mail massage to a non-subscriber. You may want to ask the sender for permission.
