Profiles of Excellence (PoE) Award recipients are selected by a panel of AAMSE member volunteer judges based on pre-determined evaluation guidelines (see below).
All current AAMSE members may apply to serve on the judging panel.
Eligible judges must be:
- Current AAMSE members
- Available from approximately mid-April – May to review submissions and participate in one teleconference to review the judging process
- Willing to disclose any conflict of interest
To apply, complete the judging application. The AAMSE Membership Committee will review applications and confirm judges based on availability, qualifications and application responses. Selected judges will be notified via email in March.
2017 APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 24
Members are eligible to serve as judges even if their organization has entered an award submission; however, judges will not be permitted to review any categories in which their organization is a nominee.
Please note: The judging process is confidential. Individual judges' scoring and comments will not be disclosed. Judges will be recognized for their contributions and involvement but the categories they review will not be disclosed.
All PoE submissions will be evaluated on:
- Program objectives
- Achievement of objectives
- Objective achievement methods
- Methods to measure results
- Effective use of resources
- Program impact
Preference will be given to nominations that feature creativity, technology and innovation in addressing the issues facing medical societies and the physicians we serve.
Membership/staff size of submitting organizations may also be considered to ensure fair comparison of nominated programs.
